Priyanka Chopra Jonas is one of the most talented actresses in Bollywood and Hollywood. The Fashion star dons multiple hats of an actor, producer, author, and entrepreneur. The actress has a massive fan following and is one of the only four Indians to make it to the list of BBC’s ‘100 Women’ this year.
Recently, the Mujhse Shaadi Karogi actress during the media chat with the portal opened up on several topics including pay disparity, and body shaming. She disclosed that during her early days in Bollywood she was body shamed because of her complexion. Remembering what people used to call her, the Kaminey actress revealed, “I was called a black cat, dusky. I mean, what does 'dusky' even mean in a country where we are literally all brown? I thought I was not pretty enough, I believed that I would have to work a lot harder, even though I thought I was probably a little bit more talented than my fellow actors who were lighter skinned.”
Priyanka Chopra also further talked about the pay disparity and said that she wouldn’t even get paid 10 per cent of what her male co-stars got. “I thought it was okay to wait for my male co-actor,” she further added.
On the film front, Priyanka will be next seen in Hollywood film Citadel and Farhan Akhtar's Jee Le Zaraa.
